Activities

Design and creation of personal websites and applications; road cycling and racing; photography.

For the past year I have volunteered my spare time as a graphic designer, webmaster, and technical consultant to the Pebble Pedalers project. The project consists of planning and documenting a 17,000 mile cycling journey taken on by two brothers to fight a proposed open pit mine at the headwaters of some of the worlds largest wild salmon runs in Bristol Bay, Alaska.

I also serve as the volunteer webmaster for the San Francisco bike racing team, Team Roaring Mouse. I singlehandedly support a website, online user group, forum, and e-mail services for nearly one hundred of my teammates.

Employment

Redesign of the Apeer, Inc website and implemented it over the existing web application. User interface design for the iPhone, OSX, and Windows client application.

Updated and maintained J2EE web services from legacy code. Created new web services, data access layers, and internal tools using J2EE (with Spring), J2SE, and Ruby. Worked with C++ and Java-based image manipulation and analysis libraries.

Design and engineering of an application and web framework for personalizing search engine use.

Design of complete websites for local businesses and artisans, including coding markup and dynamic database driven back-ends. Preparation, design, and illustration of artwork and photography for the web and for print, including letterpress and large format ink jet printing.
